Step 1: Open Email Accounts

Step 2: Add a New Account
Click the green Add New Account button at the top of the page.
Step 3: Choose Google Workspace / Gmail
In the Choose Your Provider window, select Google Workspace / Gmail, then click Continue.
Step 4: Choose a Connection Method
You can connect your account using either:
  • Google OAuth — Recommended for most users
  • App Password — Use only if OAuth is blocked or restricted
Option A: Connect with Google OAuth
Step 1: Start OAuth Connection

Click Connect with Google OAuth.

Step 2: Sign In to Google
Sign in with the Gmail or Google Workspace account you want to connect.
Step 3: Review Permissions
Google will display a consent screen showing the permissions Automailer is requesting (such as sending emails on your behalf and accessing mailbox data).

Review the permissions carefully, then click Allow.

Step 4: Workspace Whitelisting (If Required)

Some Google Workspace organizations block third-party applications by default.

If the connection is blocked, your administrator needs to allow Automailer access.

To whitelist Automailer, the admin must:

1. Open the Google Admin Console
2. Go to Security
3. Navigate to Access and data control → API controls
4. Open App access control
5. Whitelist Automailer’s OAuth Client ID

Once approved, retry the OAuth connection, and it will complete successfully.
Step 5: Completion
After approval, you will be redirected back to Automailer and your inbox will be connected automatically.
Option B: Connect with an App Password
Step 1: Enable Two-Step Verification
Open your Google Account settings and enable Two-Step Verification if it is not already active.
Step 2: Generate an App Password
Go to the App Passwords section in your Google Account and create a new password for Automailer.
Step 3: Copy the App Password
Copy the 16-character code provided.
Step 4: Enter Your Account Details in Automailer
Back in Automailer, enter the following:
  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • App Password

Step 5: Connect the Account
Click Connect Account to complete the setup.
Your inbox will appear on the Email Accounts list once the connection is successful.

Important Notes
  • Google OAuth is the recommended method because it is more secure and does not require sharing or storing passwords.
  • If your organization blocks third-party access, admin approval is required before OAuth will work.
  • App Passwords should only be used when OAuth is not available.
